Scene nearly done

Nearly completed my main scene for the animation although not 100% happy yet and a few tweaks to be done i thought id share the progress so far! I have set a couple of targets i need complete for when i get back.

- Assets all done
- Character re-designed
- Scene finished

Changed the lights to a more orangey glow and i think i prefer it as it makes it that little bit more of a gloomy feel!

Bit of history and the scratching onto film technique!

Well sometime last week i was looking into some traditional animation techniques that are still used today and one of them was scratching into camera film. One of the problems i was faced with was getting my images to stand out more.I scratched into the film and applied different medias such as indian ink , marker pen , bleach and acrylic paint. It is something that is very easy to try for yourself all i used for scratching into the film was a pin!

Concrete jungle vid

Whilst listening to the awseome Black label society i was watching the video for "Concrete jungle" and was really into the animation done for it and thought it was quite relevant. This is a similar style to what id like to do for my 2.5d animation.

Using two simple cubes i have been playing around with lighting, Cameras, Depth of field and rendering in C4d slowly getting there so much tools at your disposal.

The Intro!

My name is Jamie Smart and i recently started on the FdA course in Animation at Newcastle College.

After freshening up my skills and ticking some boxes i needed ticked on a National Diploma here 2 years ago i got accepted onto the FdA course which is why i am starting this blog so you can follow my progress and work!
