This is my first attempt at creating a walk cycle for a 3d character which went well but if id giving myself more time i know it could of been better. My time planning could of been better especially in the middle of this project as i would of liked more time altering little niggles especially with the head movement whilst my character is walking.

First 3d character rig
This is my first attempt at rigging a simple 3d character which I've knocked up. I would off liked to spend more time on it but don't have time as i need to crack on with other things but may come back to it to alter the pelvic controller to give the character more movement in the upper body.

Birthcard Aagje Oprins
I was mainly interested in this short animation for the characters involved and the movement. I think it shows you can get a personality across of a character without any facial expression and i do think this animation shows that. I also like the shapes used to create the characters and shape is something im trying to focus on and experiment with when drawing up characters.
Studio killers
I have decided to post up this video as i think it is a great example of animation fitting to music and setting the feel of a song. It also shows importance of camera moves including position and speed in which it needs to move. All this in mind the animation itself is very good and i can appreciate the difficulty in creating a successful music video.
Brock O' Lee
Whilst looking through short animations which were viewed on the berlin trip i came across this clip from peppermelon which i really enjoyed especially the character design and face animation.

pixilation
As part of the contextual studies module we watched a few examples of a pixilation animation which is a technique in which film makers and animators take a sequence of frame by frame images of live action footage to create a there a bouts stop motion effect, this technique is very effective as it helps real life characters within films interact with stop motion characters.
This technique also creates a wierd and wonderful look to the animation, an example of this is the film 'The Secret Adventures of Tom Thumb'.
After watching a presentation about pixilation we were given the task of making our own pixilation short so here it is.

Character Design (colouring up)
I have been busy colouring up my character in Illustrator which i am pretty happy with, although told to keep it simple i wish i had chosen another character i had drawn which had a little bit more to it but im sure keeping it simple will help me when making my character in 3d.

Character Design
I have had to create a lean skinny character which i will be going on to make 3d using cinema 4d.
After i had drawn the initial character design out i scanned it and placed it into illustrator where i have completed the neatened line work.

First 2.5d animation in c4d complete!
Here is the final outcome of my first 2.5d project. I am happy with how it turned out and i can identify where things need to be improved. I will take the knowledge and experience gained into my next project to carry on improving my work.
Character
I was not 100% happy with my character but he did fit in well. I did focus and spend a little more time on the scenery with this animation.
Inside room
Inside the shop although i later took the black box on the left out as it did not fit well with the other assets and looked out of place.
